    Hi Kiyoko

Thanks so much for a great Master Class in London the other week – I really enjoyed it. I wrote about the experience in my blog, if you want to take a look: http://foodalltheway.com/2012/10/11/sushi/

I’ve made sushi a couple of times since and it has gone down very well with the other half and he is the envy of the staff room when he takes out his bento box at lunch time to reveal fresh, homemade Sushi!

Thank you again – I will definitely recommend your classes.

    Dear Kiyoko

I wanted to thank you so much for the Sushi course yesterday! It was such fun and I really now feel competent to serve lots of varieties of sushi to friends and family. My husband was most impressed when I showed him my efforts from the afternoon. Thank you for making it so enjoyable!

It was a Christmas present for me, and I decided to bring my younger brother and dad along too, for which YourSushi offered a reasonable discount, and we all had a really good time.

We managed to learn a lot in three hours, and the laid-back atmosphere made it easy to learn and have fun at the same time.

There were demonstrations, followed by getting stuck in ourselves, and interspersed within this was a lot of laughing with our YourSushi host Chef Kiyoko.

There were a number of techniques we were taught, and we were instructed on some of the fundamentals of sushi, such as the ideal rice cooking time and method, and the preparation of ingredients.

After the class, I really feel that I can now make good sushi (at least to a reasonable degree having been a complete novice prior to the class), although all three of us do have to focus on not using too much rice in our sushi, as Kiyoko had to rescue our creations on more than a couple of occasions.

    Thanks Kiyoko

Manu… if your life’s mission was to open peoples minds to great sushi and its application in everyday life – your mission was accomplished!

    Thank you

  11. Morag

    Hi Kiyoko,

Thank you so much for hosting our Sushi course. It was both fun and entertaining and a very yummy way in which to learn a new skill!

We all had a great time and my office colleagues who did not attend have been very envious today. There were quite a few bento boxes pulled out at lunch today!

The course was conducted in a very professional and fun manner with a very engaging host!

It is often hard to find a way to inspire and energize a team and the sushi course provided a perfect platform to learn and bond together.

I have already recommended Your Sushi to fellow Samsung teams and I am sure that you will hear more from our company.

My husband was very impressed with his dinner!

I will forward the below recipe link to everyone in our team who attended the course and give them the opportunity to provide their feedback to you.

I have attached our logo and you are welcome to use the above as a quote.

Wishing you a very lovely Bank Holiday weekend.

    Kind Regards

    Morag

I found the class very insightful and quite a bit of fun. It is a great environment for a date, couples, or friends to have a laugh, get a little messy, and snack on tasty food. I enjoyed that there even seemed to be a few brave people on their own. All of the instructions were very clear and I couldn’t believe how quickly I was able to make my own sushi! It was definitely good value for money and a great way to spend a few hours.

    Thanks again!

    Whitney

  13. Larissa

    Hi Kiyoko,

I had a great time at the Let’s Roll class on sunday. I can’t believe how much I learnt in only an hour! The class was great fun and really practical. Thanks very much for a great lesson!! 1hours is not long enough, i will come soon to your Master class i think!

    Kind regards,

    Larissa

  14. Amy

I thoroughly enjoyed the 1 hour sushi making class with Kiyoko, on Sunday.

The hour flew by but by the end we all had a yummy tray of amazing looking sushi to take home. It was the first time I had tried to roll my own sushi and, whilst I have plenty of room for improvement, I was really proud of what I made.

Kiyoko’s enthusiasm and encouragement made the class a pleasure. I haven’t put my new skills to the test at home yet, but I certainly will soon. More wasabi this time!

Thanks very much, keep up the good work!

    Amy

  15. Jill

    Hi Kiyoko,

Thanks very much for the e-book. I look forward to trying a few recipes!!

Also, I’d like to say thanks for making the class so wonderful. I really was nervous before hand but you made everyone feel very relaxed and it was such an enjoyable class.

The sushi was awesome and now we know how to make it 🙂

    Thanks again!

    Jill

  16. Anna

    Dear Manu

I wanted to say a huge thank you for all your effort and enthusiasm yesterday.

It was a real pleasure to work with you, and the event ran totally smoothly and was a great success!

I would be thrilled to explore other opportunities of working together going forwards.

Please do pass on my thanks to Kiyoko and Clebson for their great contributions too.

I will give you a call to say my thanks again.

    With very best wishes

    Anna

  17. Jo

    Hi Kiyoko

Thank you for a great course. It was so useful to learn the basics and have an expert there to correct our mistakes and help us handle the oh so sticky rice.

Many thanks and best wishes for the future

    Jo

  18. Darren

I thought the course was very informative, well presented and just right in timing wise. I particularly enjoyed the way you broke down the parts into “I do” and then “You do”. It’s always best to demonstrate first.

Many thanks and hopefully look forward to meeting you again sometime.

    Darren Head

  19. Lisa

    Dear Kiyoko

Thank you very much for a wonderful course last week, it was not only yummy it was very informative and I’ve come away feeling very confident with making sushi at home … the way the course was taught was very friendly and well presented, plus entertaining.

I’ve since been out and bought all the basics and with my e-sushi course book from Your Sushi I’m just waiting for space in my diary for me to put my new knowledge to practice.

Many friends have asked where I went … and naturally I have passed on your details to them because I couldn’t have asked for a better course! Plus your sushi class was one of my ‘challenges’ I’ve set myself to do before I’m 40 so have included your website in my blog!

Wishing you loads of success in the future.

    Kind regards

    Lisa

  20. adrian

  23. Geoff Phillips

    Hi Kiyoko,

The afternoon was quite brilliant. My daughter and I enjoyed every minute of it, and wish it could have been longer! Our thanks especially to you for your expert tuition and presentation – if only all tuitions and presentation were that good……………………….!!

Thanks again for a great afternoon.

    Kind regards

    Geoff Phillips

  24. Paul

  25. Hana

    Dear Kiyoko,

I attended your class in London and i am still talking about it just to anyone who would listen!

I had fantastic time and my sushi rolling skills improved enormously since.

You are natural teacher and it really showed you know your stuff and that you are very passionate about food.

    Hana

  26. Lee

    Hi Kiyoko,

It was an amazing experience making sushi and I thoroughly enjoyed the few hours spent, if only it could be longer so that we could learn more from you … 🙂

I will be getting the ingredients and practise a lot more, especially to get the rice right. Next I am planning to have a fun sushi session with kids next door as I am sure they will enjoy it.

Again a big thank you for being an excellent teacher and making all of us feel at ease throughout the session. I would not hesitate to recommend the sushi class to friends and colleagues who are keen on sushi.

    Best regards

    Lee

  27. Shelly

    Hi Kiyoko,

Both myself and John really enjoyed the class on Saturday afternoon and thought it was money well spent!

The class had a wonderful relaxed feel to it and we felt that it had a great balance of history, demonstrations and time for us to get hands on with all the techniques. The variety and quality of ingredients provided was superb!

Our friends were very impressed with how our bento boxes looked and tasted as were we, it’s great to know that we can invite people over and make them such pretty and great tasting sushi now 🙂

We visited the oriental supermarket on Sunday and stocked up on key ingredients so we can make sushi at home and we’re looking forward to trying some of the other recipes in the PDF, including the dessert ones.

If I had to think of a negative (which I can’t) I’d say it would be useful to know just how much amazing sushi you get to leave the class with as we had so much some of it didn’t get eaten which is a real shame. If we had known the quantities we would be bringing home we would have invited several friends over for dinner that evening! So as you can see, there really is only positive things to say!

Thank you for being such a patient and knowledgeable teacher and for making the class so enjoyable. We will be recommending the course and the company to friends and family.

    Thanks again,

    Shelly

  28. Nicky

This is a must for any Sushi lover.

The class was fantastic. I made some excellent Sushi and I have continued making Sushi since. The lesson was not rushed and it covered every part of Sushi making it was the best money I have spent on a day out. Thank you!

  30. Ian

Had a really good lesson with Kiyoko. She’s a fantastic teacher!

I will definitely never eat supermarket sushi again. Thank you for opening my eyes to a far taster, and not to mention cheaper, world of Sushi! The Sushi we made didn’t last very long once I got home!

Thank you again for the lesson!

  31. Elodie & Marco

  34. Matt

I just wanted to say that I had an excellent time, I learnt an awful lot about making and preparing Sushi, the atmosphere was excellent and the tutor was really good, friendly, and obviously enthusiastic about his subject – something that rubbed off on everyone during the session.

Thank you very much, I would recommend it to anyone! :O)

  35. Emily

  37. Alex

Thank you very much for yesterday’s class, I really enjoyed it. I am now full of enthusiasm for making sushi and am going to a Chinese Supermarket in Croydon (Wing Yip Centre) to buy all the paraphernalia I need.

Also, I plan to make some sushi to take for lunch at work throughout the week.

I couldn’t have asked for a better class!

  38. Rebecca

Thank you for the course I attended yesterday. I got far more out of it than I had anticipated!!!

  39. Paul

I did the master class workshop today and thoroughly enjoyed it. You have a really good teacher. She ensured that we got hands on, and I was amazed at the amount of things we covered in such a short time.

Many thanks, I’d do it again and happily recommend you to everyone!

  41. Sue and Helen

My daughter and I attended Your Sushi’s sushi master class. It was a present from my husband. We really enjoyed learning about sushi, how to make some and especially loved eating the result of our efforts! We did manage to make more than we could eat – so took some samples home to our husbands – they send their thanks too. We have made sushi twice since and having a ‘sushi fest’ for family this weekend celebrating my son’s engagement.

    Many thanks to Your Sushi!

  42. Dan

A fantastic afternoon! We had a lot of fun and learnt a lot. We also came away with a tasty plate full of sushi so you cannot go wrong! Thanks again!

  43. Pam

Just a note to say we had a great time on Saturday. The chef was superb, and we had a very thorough session which went well over time as we learned so much, and came away knowing how to make every kind of sushi I’d ever come across previously.

I’m now a happy sushi bunny!

  44. Lucas

I really enjoyed the day. It was well worth the money.

I found it really easy to follow Kiyoko and it was good to see how the professionals do it!

    Thanks again.

  45. Heidi

Thank you so much for the sushi lesson.

Learnt so much and the sushi was delicious.

Really friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic team too.

I’ll definitely be trying out my new sushi making skills on friends!

  46. Carolina

The chef was an excellent sushi chef/teacher and the Cookery Class was great fun. I hope somebody will give me another voucher so that I can perfect my technique!

  47. Michael

The class was brilliant. I took in and learnt a lot in such a short space of time.

Kiyoko is an excellent tutor and made it really fun. I really enjoyed it and also felt I could take in more and wanted to do more because I think Kiyoko’s style of delivery really suited everyone there.

Thanks for a really enjoyable course and I will mention my class and the fun I had to family, friends and colleagues.

Take care and very best wishes.

  48. Casilda

Hi there, We had a great time at the class on Saturday, it was very well organised but also very relaxed. The tutor was very informative and also provided some history about the origins of sushi etc which was very interesting.

We really enjoyed it and have gained some confidence in attempting to make our own sushi at home! We made so much food we were able to take it away and have a picnic nearby.

    Many thanks

  49. Chris

The sushi class on Saturday was excellent. My wife was very impressed with her surprise birthday treat.

Best of all, there was Sanchi Tamari gluten free soy sauce on the day, especially for my wife. These small touches can make all the difference, and it was greatly appreciated. All in all a great experience. Thank you so much, and we are very much looking forward to making great sushi!

  50. Susie

I thoroughly enjoyed my sushi making class this weekend. Both my husband and i enjoyed tasting the fruits of my labour. I would recommend this class to anyone who enjoys eating sushi as learning how to make it by yourself increases the flavour tenfold.

I can’t wait to make my first batch at home. Thank you

  51. Tarek

I have enjoyed the class beyond my expectation. The really knew his craft. I thought when signed up it is going to be classic teaching class. However, it was much more than that. It was fun, friendly. I was introduced to a bit of sushi history. I have learnt so many tricks. The chef was jolly, made me see… the art of making sushi. I have enjoyed eating my own hand-made sushi. At the end, i had a lovely box full of goodies to share with family. I have already recommended the class to few of my friends.

  52. Carl

I had a really excellent day. It was highly enjoyable, very informative and a very good education. The chef’s approach to teaching was superb – witty and full of energy.

The class that I attended produced a lot of sushi in a relatively short space of time. The chef had the ability to keep people’s attention, and they learnt very quickly because of this.

With thanks again – greatly appreciated.

  53. Darren

The class was booked for me as a birthday present. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but actually I had a really great time. The group was fun and friendly, the chef was a really knowledgeable and entertaining, and the sushi was really delicous! Thanks for a great day out!

  54. Douglas

Attended the course in London last Saturday and was inspired by the charismatic Emmanuel. Found the course very helpful and not as difficult as I thought it would be. Made loads of sushi and took some home – the big result for me was that my family ate everything I brought home and encouraged me to do more!!

  55. Edna

I was pretty excited when my family gave me -as a present for my birthday- a sushi class. I expected many things from the class, but everything I learned exceeded my expectations. Emmanuel, was a brilliant teacher, fun and has that personality that makes youunderstand everything easily. He also was very kind and patient… and all the time he tried to make sure that you were fine and having good time. The group was also an asset. Everyone wanted to learn and create an excellent learning environment. Now I’m looking forward to get all the equipment and ingredients. I can’t wait to start cooking my own sushi. Love it!

  56. Nigel

First and foremost can I thank you both for a fantastic day in Bristol. I had such fun and came away with a significant sense of pride in what I had prepared. My wife was doubly impressed at the fact that I had managed to do something worthwhile but also she had some lunch to take into work.

My work colleagues all thought I’d been to Tesco to buy some. I said ” Oh no you’d never find Sushi of this quality there!!!”

Kiyoko’s delivery was perfect for the day. She used humour and a real sense of understanding of the needs of the class to get over a point to us especially as we were ally first timers!

The gift was also a complete surprise to me and very generous.

Thank you once again and I will look forward to using my skills for the future.

  57. Sarah

I wanted to say thank you as my voucher was bought as a gift for my boyfriend. He had a fantastic time and came away feeling inspired and very pleased with the few hours that he spent with Your Sushi. He was full of compliments about the teacher, style of teaching and the quality of ingredients available.

I can vouch for the sushi that he came away with which was delicious! He was aware of the price of the class and said that, although it wasn’t a cheap present, he felt that it was good value for money due to the quality of everything that he experienced.

I am certain that my boyfriend will be sending a testimonial himself but in the meantime, thanks again for making his experience such a good one.

    Best wishes,

    Sarah

  58. Vincent

Thank you so much for the class on Saturday in London, it was a birthday gift from my friend Vincent. I had a brilliant time and i learnt a lot. I love seafood, especially sushi and it was one of the best gifts I’ve ever received.

The sushi we made was fresh and pack full of flavour, i truly loved it but you have ruined the sushi that i buy from the supermarket and shop because its not the same. I can no longer waste my money on that su-shit.

Thank you so much for adding to my birthday gift.

  59. Lauren

Thank you so much to Emmanuel and his team for such a wonderful day on Saturday. Kiyoko was a wonderful tutor and moreover has a great, friendly, patient demeanour even when we made a mess! My partner (who bought me the lessons as a gift!) was very impressed with what I produced! I have already been to my local Oriental… Superstore on Mill Rd in Cambridge to buy Nori, roll mats etc and have been looking on the internet for a not-too-expensive rice cooker and plan to have an evening sharing my new skills with my girlfriends over a glass or two (or three!) of vino!

Attended the sushi masterclass in March in Bristol.

Had a great time and learnt so much from both of you, all the hints and tips were extremely useful.

Have all the ingredients I need in the kitchen at home now, much easier to obtain than I thought!, and ready to give it a go and impress my mother-in-law. It was a fun class, learnt lots and would recommend it to others definitely.

Excellent present idea for someone who wants a new, fun, yummy skill….

PS: all the sushi we made on the day was gone within 30 mins of getting home, friends and family very happy with what we produced!!

  62. Aby

    Hello!

Some feedback on the class. Firstly, we really enjoyed it (the class was a birthday present for myself). It was well run, certainly felt like the appropriate amount of time was spent on each section (too not long or short). Our class instructor was very friendly, and helped when needed. I also thought it was nice how different types of fish and ‘specialities’ were brought out at different times to keep everyone excited.

A great experience and I would definitely recommend!

    Kind regards

    Aby

  63. Laura & Tom

This was a birthday present for my boyfriend and it was a perfect present!

We both went and had so much fun and ate so much delicious sushi .. we’ve only been home a few hours and Tom has already polished off his big box of goodies! Roland was such a fantastic teacher; very friendly, very helpful and very talented – I never thought we would make sushi to the standard we did (although not quite as good as Roland’s!)

We learnt so much today and Roland was a very inspiring teacher – I think Tom should open a sushi restaurant too! Even though my salmon slicing isn’t quite up to scratch I will definitely be making sushi at home very soon.

Thank you again Your Sushi for such a fab fun filled day!

    Laura & Tom

  64. Elizabeth

I had a great time at my class. The class was longer than stated which was good. instructor was very incouraging and friendly. The class was far more value for money than i was expecting and made loads more different types than i thought we would. I had a really fun time and hope to make lots of sushi in the future.

I felt very confident and skilled up by the end of the class. would recomend it to anyone and everyone. I handed it out to people at work the next day and they all were very surprised and said it tasted great.

So happy i asked for it as a christmas present was the best one ive had for years.

My wife and I had a fabulous time in Bristol last month, learning how to make sushi with Manu. In just 1 hour our bento boxes were full of our own hand made sushi and it was all thanks to our great teacher.

He was so enthusiastic about making sushi which was infectious and made the whole experience memorable.

If you are looking for a great present for a loved one, or looking to learn a new skill, look no further!

    Dear Your Sushi

I just got home from today’s sushi class with Kiyoko, and I had to get right on the computer and tell you how much I loved it!!! Kiyoko is a very good teacher; friendly and incredibly welcoming. Her teaching style is perfect for the classes.

I had never made sushi before the class, and now I feel confident in making all the types that Kiyoko showed us! I will strongly recommend Your Sushi to my friends, and I will be making sushi at home from now on, instead of buying it from the supermarket.

Many thanks for a truly memorable day!

    Best,

    Becca

My name is Amanda Weir, and I booked two places at the Your Sushi Cookery Class in Glasgow for my friend Chris and I. Our two friends Claire and Diana also booked the class as it was a present from us all for Chris’s 30th birthday. Our chef for the day was Satomi and because she likes to teach small groups, it was just the four of us in the Cookery Class (at her cool flat) which was excellent! Satomi was such a nice person and throughout the class she talked to us about Japanese culture and explained the stories behind the different techniques used in sushi making….like the chef’s slapping their hands and banging their sashimi knifes to get rid of excess water…definitely one way to show off when making the sushi for other people!

Satomi is obviously very skilled and has been making sushi for a long time. It was great to watch an expert at work….and it made it easier for us to pick up too. The sushi we made was delicious…and there was lots of it!!! My favourite was definitely the Nigiri sushi as Satomi had raw tuna which I had never tried before but I absolutely loved it! The Temaki sushi (meaning hand roll if I remember correctly!?!) was great to make too and we all said it would be great to make at a party since you just place the ingredients onto the nori and roll into a cone so it’s very easy!

I think what I’ve learned from the class is that the most difficult part of sushi making is cooking the rice – we didn’t do this as it would have taken up too much time but watching Satomi prepare the rice made me realise that if the rice isn’t cooked properly then the sushi just won’t be any good. So I look forward to giving that a go!!

Anyway to summarise, we had the best day ever at the class, Satomi was a brilliant teacher and the sushi tasted amazing. The class actually ran over by an hour which we were more than happy about (we would have stayed there all day making and eating sushi!!) :o) and we took lots of pictures to impress our friends with our skills! We had so much fun and can’t wait to have a go at making sushi in our own kitchens!! I would recommend this class to anyone who loves sushi, especially if there is a group of friends wanting to learn together.

We can’t rate Satomi highly enough, she was the perfect teacher and it was lovely to meet her!

    Thanks again!

  69. Daniel

The sushi master course on with Satomi was fantastic; an excellent teacher and the class was fun! As I eat a lot of sushi I was keen to learn and try it for myself – my girlfriend bought it as a present and it was well worth it.

Took home lots of the rolls that we made, we ate plenty there too. Learned techniques for rice making (which really is the only preparation you should do before you start to make any dish.)

It was a great day and I look forward to making it for friends and family soon!

    Daniel

  70. Alan & Adrienne

We both THOROUGHLY ENJOYED the afternoon, due to the chefs superbly friendly and entertaining way of passing on some of his knowledge to us. We have good cause to thank our son who bought the ‘experience’ for us as a present and have not only thanked him profusely but also told him of you corporate sessions.

Adrienne has just walked in the door, returning from the hairdresser to whom she has also recommended you.She was looking for a special present for a friend and we have total confidence that they will learn and enjoy as we did – both the knowledgeable cook and the complete beginner. If we keep on recommending you we shall have to start chasing you for commission soon.

In short – a thoroughly enjoyable and informative afternoon catering (no pun intended) for those who already have some experience of sushi and the complete beginner.

    Thank you again

  71. Edna

I was pretty excited when my family gave me -as a present for my birthday- a sushi class. I expected many things from the class, but everything I learned exceeded my expectations. The chef was a brilliant teacher, fun and had a personality that makes you understand everything easily. He also was very kind and patient… and all the time he tried to make sure that you were fine and having good time. The group was also an asset. Everyone wanted to learn and create an excellent learning environment.

I can’t wait to start cooking my own sushi.

    Love it!

  72. Anest

  73. Michael

    Hi Kiyoko,

Thanks for the class, as said on the day you are a thoroughly first class fun teacher.

I really can’t suggest anything to improve as you ticked all the boxes.

Your own personal input could not have been better and the class exceeded all of my expectations.

    Thanks very much.

  74. Hana

I attended your class in London and i am still talking about it just to anyone who would listen!

I had fantastic time and my sushi skills have improved enormously since.

The chef (Kiyoko) is a natural teacher and it really showed you know your stuff and that you are very passionate about food.

  75. Malcolm

We both enjoyed the class immensely and it was great fun.

You were a brilliant teacher and managed to create a great atmosphere which got us all involved, so by the end of it we were producing sushi which looked pretty much like the real thing.

Lots of useful tips and tricks- so we now have the confidence to make great sushi at home, and at a fraction of the cost of the high priced stuff in the shops.

    Thank you so much!

  76. Charlotte

Just wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed your sushi master class! It was great fun and I was amazed at what I’d managed to produce by the end – very pretty, very tasty sushi and enough for two people’s dinner and lunch the next day!

The teacher was really friendly and full of interesting anecdotes and information about sushi and its history. I have since made sushi at home for four people and although it took a while (need more practice!) it turned out beautifully!

Thank you so much, if anyone is hesitating to book a class I say do it – it’s a great life skill and you’ll be so proud of yourself by the end!

  77. Jose

I just wanted to say thanks – the class with Kiyoko was excellent. Kiyoko was really engaging and very clear and easy to understand. I left with great confidence and look forward to trying out my new skills with some interesting fillings.

You asked me to give feedback especially given I am a coeliac and must avoid gluten and wheat. Your colleague James was amazing at the time of booking and gave me a lot of detailed and well-thought out feedback on what I could and couldn’t eat.

Equally, on the day, I noticed Kiyoko had noted I was gluten free on her list and when I mentioned I had my own soy sauce she offered me a different type of saucer to hold my soy sauce in so as not to have it confused with anyone elses which I thought was great too…..

Sushi is a great food option for coeliacs and now that I have some skills, Ill look forward to making fresh coeliac friendly sushi at home.

Again, thank you so much. I found this course, and the help of all your colleagues to be amazing and I would recommend this to any of my friends.

    Thanks again!!

  78. Donna & Simon

Just wanted to let you know we had a fantastic master class yesterday afternoon – our teacher was amazing. We did learn all sorts of techniques

and took home a wonderful array of sushi to enjoy for our family evening meal (as well as the nibbles throughout the afternoon).

Our teenage girls love sushi too and were extremely impressed with the results of our learning! Very generous, very well taught and so interesting.

Looking forward to ebook so can go shopping next weekend to get started at home!

    Would strongly recommend to anyone!

    Thanks again!

  79. James

My wife Dawn and I attended your Sushi master class. This is just a quick note to say “thanks very much” for a fantastic day.

Not only were you extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sushi, you were really patient and helpful with us amateurs! We have really enjoyed tucking into all the beautiful sushi we made and our daughter Jennifer has too! We’ve also been pestering our friends to register for a class with you because we know they would really enjoy it.

Anyway, thanks again for a fantastic day.

    All the best,

    James

Had a brilliant time learning to make (and eating lots of) Sushi in Bristol.

You don’t need any prior experience as it’s at a good pace and you learn how to make various types of sushi as well as stuff like how to cook the rice and prepare the fish. Make sure you get the dvd too, especially if you have a terrible memory like me as you don’t wanna forget everything you learnt 🙂

  81. Richard

A quick email to say how much I enjoyed the sushi-making session yesterday.

Our tutor was absolutely delightful and we learned so much in 3 and a half hours that we had. She was full of brilliant tips and fascinating facts about the origin of sushi and paced perfectly so that we had the right amount of tuition and then plenty of time to attempt our own versions.

I went home proudly brandishing my (very stuffed) bento boxes and they impressed so much that i think there were some doubts that I’d made them!

  82. Elizabeth

So happy i asked for it as a christmas present was the best one ive had for years!

  83. Lucas

I really enjoyed the day. I found it really easy to follow Kioko and it was good to see how the professionals do it!

    Thanks again.

  84. Alan & Adrienne Fouracre

Adrienne, and I came to your sushi class at Bristol on 17th October. Adrienne was the one who has a ‘global palate’ and is an excellent and knowledgeable cook I was the one who has a sum total of about 7 tastebuds and on a good day can tell a fish finger from a beefburger – so as far as a testemonial goes it comes from a very wide perspective.

All I can say is that we both THOROUGHLY ENJOYED the afternoon, due to your superbly friendly and entertaining way of passing on some of your knowledge to us. We have good cause to thank our son who bought the ‘experience’ for us as a present and have not only thanked him profusely but also told him of you corporate sessions. 85. Ivan

I enjoyed the class very much – we were kept busy, making a number of different types of roll, got some practice with cutting the rolls and ingredients, and useful demonstrations on how to cut the fish (salmon) and how to prepare the rice.

The chef, was very clear on the importance of ingredients, mixing the rice and vinegar and a number of other key points.

He also suggested a number of unexpected fillings, and good tips on using ingredients in terms of presentation (cress, seeds etc).

His upbeat style was certainly effective in establishing the mood of the class. He also demonstrated each stage of the creation of the various rolls, and provided guidance as we embarked on the process. We ended up with a couple of bento boxes of sushi at the end (very nice).

All-in-all, it was fun and informative, with loads of hands on activity. I’d certainly recommend it.

  86. Nigel

Just made my first sushi since taking the yoursushi course at Bristol last Sunday.Would i remember what the chef said……The information he gave us….His tips with the Nigiri…How to not over fill the nori. The answer was yes i did remember and the outcome was delesh……..Thanks for advise and an informative time.

I am pleased to be able to offer feedback on behalf of Anne and myself.

We thought the session was well prepared and planned and that the pace of the session fitted well with the group. Anne also valued that Mannu remembered her birthday (I had booked the class back in November as a birthday treat for Anne) and that the fun and light heartedness that he generated added to the whole experience. All in a very enjoyable experience.

  88. Gary Cunningham

My wife and I had a fabulous time in Bristol last month, learning how to make sushi with Manu. at the end of the session our bento boxes were full of our own hand made sushi and it was all thanks to our great teacher.

He was so enthusiastic about making sushi which was infectious and made the whole experience memorable.

If you are looking for a great present for a loved one, or looking to learn a new skill, look no further!

  89. Ruth Hartley

I just want to drop a line and thank you for arranging such a fabulous morning on Sunday.

I don’t really like cooking, but love food. The course was so well organised, with a great teacher, and allowed my natural creativity to flourish. Sharing and enjoying the sushi I had made on returning home with my goody bag was an added bonus.

Loved the morning, loved the sushi, and loved the chef. So glad I booked, and would recommend it to everyone!

T-dog and I had a fun time and came away inspired to make our own sushi in the future. Our only piece of constructive feedback would be to warn people just how much sushi you take home from the course as we hadn’t arranged any friends to help us eat it all!!

We had a great day, thanks for making us feel so welcome.

    Thanks again!

  92. Phil

    Hi Manu and Kiyoko,

Just to say I really enjoyed the sushi class. It was fun and I learnt loads. I have just had friends round tonight and I made sushi. They were so impressed and it tasted great.

I will recommend you course to my friends.

Thanks and all the best for the future.

  93. Helen Osborn

Attended the sushi masterclass in Bristol.

  94. Julie & Kim

    Good Afternoon Kiyoko

Both Kim and I had a great time with you on Sunday. We shared the sushi we made with our 3 children and all were very impressed with it. It is a skill that I am sure we will use over and over again. Thank you for being so encouraging and such a great teacher.

    With best wishes!

  95. Nigel Russell

    Hello Manu and Kiyoko

Thankyou once again and I will look forward to using my skills for the future.

I can’t thank you enough for today, it was great and you made it so simple, i can’t quite believe all the cash i spent in the last 3 years buying Sushi when i can make my own very tasty ones!

I will be contacting you soon for a work party…making Sushi!!!

Thank you and see you soon!

  98. MIKE

Thanks for a great Sushi class, lots of tips and knowledge. We had a really good time, and will certainly recommend Your Sushi to all of our others friends.

We invited some friends over to sample the Sushi that we had made and they were very impressed with our efforts. The class was extremely informative and helped to clear up some of our misunderstandings regarding Sushi.

  100. John

Simply well done!!! I know this is another 5 stars rating but it was simply an amazing class, very inspirational and superbly delivered.

    Thanks again!

I attended the course cy Kiyoko in Bristol on January 20th. I learned so much in one hour. Kiyoko was such an excellent teacher. Very knowledgable, humorous and a great communicator. She has given me the confidence to serve sushi to my guests even after one hour. It may sound too good to be true but I am totally serious. You will be able to do this after one session. Worth every penny!

  103. Sibel

Worth every penny. Kiyoko was fantastic. A great teacher with a lot of kmowledge and humour. I learned with confidence and can now serve sushi even after one session!

  104. Sophie

I never thought it would be so simple to learn Sushi making!!!

Thank you Kiyoko a million times for a great class this sunday. Lots of fun but mostly, lots of amazing sushi to take home.

    Thanks again!!!

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the Sushi Class on Saturday. There was a lot to learn but Manu made it both informative and loads of fun. If only my teachers at school could have been as enthusiastic and engaging as Manu.

Can’t wait to try out my new skills.

    Thanks a lot.

As a special birthday present the Your Sushi class I attended couldn’t have been better for a sushi lover such as myself. The class was very well organised, the teaching structured yet fun and the ingredients supplied were first rate.

I was impressed with the number of sushi varieties we were taught to create and how hands-on the class was. By the end of the day I felt well educated on the fundamentals of sushi and, most importantly, I left feeling genuinely confident that I could go home and make my own.

Many thanks again for a great day and kind regards,

I had a fantastic time. The course was well designed and great fun. I really learnt how to make all sorts of sushi and about its origian and the origin of the ingredients. I would never have been able to do this at home without one of your sessions first! I took so much home at the end of the day that it fed both myself and my boyfriend for dinner which was an added bonus!! Thank you for making it such fun and for really getting me enthused on the art of making (and eating) sushi!!

  113. Tiffany

Great day on Saturday. Kiyoko was lovely and explained everything really simply and clearly. We had no problems following her instructions. Later my friends really enjoyed eating everything I had made. I’ve just ordered a rice cooker so there will be no stopping me.

I have already been to my local Oriental… to buy Nori, roll mats etc and have been looking on the internet for a not-too-expensive rice cooker and plan to have an evening sharing my new skills with my girlfriends over a glass or two (or three!) of vino!

  115. Bella

Bought a voucher for my husband for christmas. We went on Saturday. We really enjoyed the class ..Both learnt a lot from it and the lady taking the class was fantastic. Can you advise on the brand and where to get the Nori and rice vinegar as I have been able to source the rice locally. Also was the radish prepared or bought ready made.

Thank you once again and I will look forward to using my skills for the future.

    Dear Kiyoko

Thank you for a wonderful afternoon making sushi – I have learned a lot, and my efforts at home will now have a lot more finesse. You created a great atmosphere, and I am now on a mission to convert a few more of my friends to liking sushi.

    Thanks again!

We had a really good time with Kiyoko, and we made some delicious and good looking food! Very enjoyable. A wonderful gift!

We made so much Sushi that I ended up giving a plate to our neighbours, they said it was delicious!

  132. Keiko

Despite being Japanese myself, and having done Sushi at home before, I learnt an unbelievable amount from your Cookery class.

Thank you for all this, it was well worth it.

  133. Audrey

I can’t thank you enough for today, it was great and you made it so simple, i can’t quite believe all the cash i spent in the last 3 years buying Sushi when i can make my own very tasty ones!

I will be contacting you soon for a work party…making Sushi!!!

Thank you and see you soon!

  134. Ursula

We travelled to Japan and we always wanted to be able to do our own. Well…in 3 and a half fun hours we did just that! It was a fantastic day and a really thorough course. It was also very relaxed and informal…we highly recommend it!

  135. Anna

Hi , Thank you so much for the class. Kiyoko was the most amazing teacher and we soaked it all up completely.

I am now making my own Sushi every weekend since the class, thank you so much!

  136. Vicki

Chris had a great time! I’ve asked him to drop you a line when he gets chance.

He has spent the last week searching for the right rice cooker and lecturing me on the sin that is supermarket sushi :O)

He has also promised to throw a sushi party as soon as he gets the cooker, I can’t wait!

Thank you so much, this was definitely one of the best birthday presents I have given anyone and I will recommend it to everyone!

    Thanks again!

Thanks for the class, as said on the day you are a thoroughly first class fun teacher.

I really can’t suggest anything to improve as you ticked all the boxes with the presentation.

Your own personal input could not be bettered and the class met all of my expectations.

    Thanks very much.

We have just returned from the Manchester lesson.

    Thanks James,

My husband and I had such a good time yesterday. Kyoko was a fantastic teacher, we really enjoyed the course and our sushi fed us for lunch and dinner yesterday and lunch today! Would definitely do it again – fantastic experience and well worth the money!

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the Sushi Class in Manchester on Saturday. There was a lot to learn, but it was made both informative and loads of fun. If only my teachers at school could have been as enthusiastic and engaging as Manu.

Can’t wait to try out my new skills.

    Thanks a lot!

  144. Alison

I thoroughly enjoyed the sushi course and Kiyoko was an excellent teacher and host. Very friendly and encouraging. I will recommend it to friends!

My daughter and I attended the sushi Cookery Class in Manchester.

I booked this Cookery Class for my husband’s birthday as we both like eating sushi but have never ventured to make it.

It was fabulous! We had so much fun and it was such a great experience. Now we’re planning our next sushi making session.

    Well worth it!

    Thank you

    Hi Kiyoko,

Thank you so much for such a wonderful afternoon!

The course was well structured fun and very hands on, the sushi we made was fantastic and the afternoon was amazing fun! The knowledge (and trays of sushi) we took away with us together with all the items in the sushi kit have set us up for life! We’ve eaten more sushi since doing the course than we would think possible!!!

Once again, thank you very much!

    Hi there,

I just wanted to say that I had an excellent time, I learnt an awful lot about making and preparing Sushi, the atmosphere was excellent and the tutor was really good, friendly, and obviously enthusiastic about his subject – something that rubbed off on everyone during the session.

Thank you very much, I would recommend it to anyone! :O)

    Kind regards!

Hi, Thanks very much for forwarding the Sushi guide onto me, and also a big thanks for the great class on sunday. We both thoroughly enjoyed it, and loved eating all that delicious sushi.

If anyone ever wants to try making sushi I will definately recommend your classes.

    Thanks again,

  157. Carl

I had a really excellent day. It was highly enjoyable, very informative and a very good education. Emmanuel’s approach to teaching was superb – witty and full of energy.

The class that I attended produced a lot of sushi in a relatively short space of time. Emmanuel had the ability to keep people’s attention, and they learnt very quickly because of this.

With thanks again – greatly appreciated.

  158. Darren
